On October 10, 1994, the New York Giants retired defensive legend Lawrence Taylor’s number. The linebacker is known as one of the best NFL players of all time, and perhaps the greatest defensive players of all time. He was a 10-time Pro Bowler, two-time Super Bowl champion, and three-time defensive player of the year. He was also the last defender to win the NFL MVP award in 1986, when he recorded an incredible 20.5 sacks on the season.
