In 2014, Lionel Messi of FC Barcelona set a new goal scoring record in La Liga of 253 goals. The legendary soccer player made his debut for FC Barcelona at age 16, and is known for his creative playmaking and elite scoring ability. Messi is currently still the all-time scorer with 447 goals scored in La Liga. Messi has helped the club win 34 trophies. He has lifted 10 La Liga titles, 6 Copa del Rey honors, 8 Spanish Super Cups, 4 Champions Leagues, 3 UEFA Super Cups and 3 FIFA Club World Cups. Messi has also scored 36 hat-tricks and a total of  696 career goals for both his club and country. Messi’s enormous success on the field has allowed him to amass over $1 billion in pretax career earnings.
