On this day in 2007, the Texas Rangers scored the most runs by a team in modern MLB history. In an epic one-sided game, the Texas Rangers routed the Baltimore Orioles 30-3. The last time a team scored more was in 1897, when the Chicago Colts recorded 36 runs against Louisville. That night in 2007 marked the game of a lifetime for Ramon Vasquez. Vasquez, a utility infielder, was good with the glove, but from 2001-2009 he only recorded 22 home runs. However, on that special night, everything went right for the Rangers. Vasquez would crush two homers in that game, and hit the crucial one giving the Rangers a lead of 30-3.
