Joe Frazier knocked out Ron Stander in a 1972 heavyweight boxing bout. The Fraizer-Stander bout was at the first official heavyweight title fight held in Nebraska. Stander has a 23-1-1 record while Fraizer entered the ring with a 10-1 record. The fight was stopped by a ring doctor and Fraizer won a fifth-round technical knockout. Many consider this fight to be the highlight of Stander’s boxing career. He is also remembered for his 1970 victory over Earnie Shavers in 1970 and his victory over Thad Spencer in 1971. Stander finished his boxing career with a a 37-21 record and recored 28 wins by KO.
