On this day in 2009, Utah Jazz point guard Deron Williams dished out 20 assists in a 112-104 win over the Golden State Warriors. Williams was the third pick in the 2005 NBA Draft and is currently ranked no.22 on the NBA All-Time Assists Leaders list with 6,819. Williams was a phenomenal point guard, he recorded 21 assists in a game twice, and averaged over 10 assists per season from 2007-11. In his best season, Williams held career averages of 16.3 points and 8.1 assists. Williams’ other accolades include 2x All-NBA Second Team and 3x NBA All-Star. Williams was also a member of the United States National Basketball Team that won gold in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.
