In 2000, Antawan Jamison and Kobe Bryant each scored 51 points in a Golden State Warriors versus Los Angeles Kings game (125-122). This marks the first time in 38 years that opposing NBA players score more than 50 points during a single game.
The last time was on December 14, 1963, when Wilt Chamberlain scored 63 points for the Philadelphia Warriors and Elgin Baylor tallied 50 points for the Los Angeles Lakers. The Warriors vs. Lakers game was the second in a two-game streak where Jamison tallied 50 points or more per game. Jamison retired in 2014 with more than 20,000 points and currently works for the Washington Wizards. He, along with Tom Chambers, are the only two eligible players with more than 20,000 points who have not been elected to the hall of fame.
