Barry Bonds, of the San Francisco Giants, recorded his 70th homer during a 10-2 win over Houston in 2001. He tied Mark McGwire for most homers in a single season. Bonds is known for his skill as an all-around baseball player and has eight Golden Glove awards to his name. Bonds, who retired in 2007, is the only MLB player to record 500 homers and 500 stolen bases over his career. Despite controversy over steroid use, Bonds is recognized as one of MLB’s greats. He has not yet met the minimum percentage of votes to earn a place in the Hall of Fame.
