On this day in 2018, 39-year-old New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees threw a 17-yard pass to Michael Thomas and became the NFL career pass completion leader, breaking Brett Favre’s record of 6,300 completions. Brees is one of the most successful quarterbacks in NFL history and holds many records. In addition to being the career pass completion leader he holds the career completion percentage (67.6%), career passing yards (77,576), and career touchdown passes (549) record. Brees led the New Orleans Saints to their first ever Super Bowl appearance in 2010 and secured the win with an amazing performance. Brees completed 32 of 39 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns, and was named the Super Bowl MVP in the 31-17 win over the Indianapolis Colts. 20 seasons and 13 Pro Bowls later, Brees is still going strong.
