In 1993, Roger Clemens of the Boston Red Sox pitched his 2,000th strike out against Danny Tartabull of the New York Yankees. Nicknamed “Rocket,” Clemens is an 11-time All-Star with two World Series under his belt. He has the most Cy Young awards of any pitcher with seven and is known as one of the league’s most intimidating pitchers. He played 24 seasons in the MBL and finished his career with 354 wins, a 3.12 earned run average (ERA), and 4,672 strikeouts. He ranks third in all-time strikeouts behind Nolan Ryan (5,714) and Randy Johnson (4,875).
