In 1962, Gary Player became the first South African player to win the United States PGA championship. Nicknamed, Mr. Fitness, Player won nine major championships and tallies nine additional victories on the Champions Tour. He is known as one of the greatest players in golf history and worked as a golf course architect on more than 400 design projects around the world.
