In 2008, the Seattle SuperSonics’ move to Oklahoma was finalized. The city of Seattle filed a lawsuit against to SuperSonics for breaking their lease on the KeyArena which was set to expire in 2010. Clay Bennett, of the Professional Basketball Club LLC, reached a settlement agreement with the city. As part of the agreement trophies, banners, and other items were relocated to the Museum of History and Industry. The SuperSonics moved into Oklahoma City’s Ford Center for the 2008-09 season and were rebranded as the Oklahoma City Thunder.
