Rolando Blackman became one of just two Dallas Mavericks players to have his jersey retired in a 2000 ceremony. Blackman holds 24 of the team’s records and is a four-time All-Star. He was selected as the number eight overall pick in the 1981 NBA Draft and was the first Panamanian player in the league. He spent 11 seasons with the Mavericks and played in six playoff games. Blackman made 6,487 field goals with the Mavericks and scored 16,643 points during his 865 games with the team. His records were broken 18 years later by Dirk Nowitzki in 2008. Blackman played two years with the New York Knicks before signing with the Greek League team AEK Athens BC in 1994. The following year, he played for Olimpia Milano and led the team to the Italian League title and the Italian Basketball Cup. Post-playing career, Blackman worked as a TV analyst for the Mavericks and as  assistant coach to the Turkey national basketball team.
