The Atlanta Braves became the first U.S. team to win a World Series game outside of the United States. In 1992, the Braves defeat the Toronto Blue Jays at the SkyDome (now called Rogers Centre). The Braves won 13-6 after coming off three consecutive losses to the Blue Jays. Despite the Braves’ Game 5 victory, the Blue Jays ended up winning the 1992 World Series in an equally historic game. The Blue Jays 1992 victory marked the first time a Canadian team won the championship crown and helped Canadian teams gain MLB recognition.
