By Jonah Sharf

On April 24, 1994, Spurs legend and LOS podcast guest David Robinson became just the fourth NBA player to score 70 points in a game, lighting up the Clippers for 71 in the Spurs’ 112-97 road win in LA. With the performance, Robinson finished the 1993-94 season as the NBA’s scoring champion, edging out Orlando’s Shaquille O’Neal 29.8 to 29.3 ppg. This was the Admiral’s one NBA scoring championship, and he averaged 10.7 rebounds per game that season as well, to go along with 3.3 blocks per game.
