By Jonah Sharf

On April 24, 1994, Spurs legend and LOS podcast guest David Robinson became just the fourth NBA player to score 70 points in a game, lighting up the Clippers for 71 in the Spurs’ 112-97 road win in LA. With the performance, Robinson finished the 1993-94 season as the NBA’s scoring champion, edging out Orlando’s Shaquille O’Neal 29.8 to 29.3 ppg. This was the Admiralโ€™s one NBA scoring championship, and he averaged 10.7 rebounds per game that season as well, to go along with 3.3 blocks per game.
