On January 19, 1974, Notre Dame beat UCLA 71-70 to end head coach John Wooden and UCLA’s legendary record-breaking 88-game winning streak. With Notre Dame trailing by 11 with three-and-a-half minutes left in the game, they scored the last 12 points of the game to end the historic streak. Led by Hall of Fame center Bill Walton, who averaged 20.3 points and 15.7 rebounds per game in his UCLA career and legendary coach Wooden, this UCLA team is considered one of the best in college basketball history.
