On January 14, 1993, the Portland Trail Blazers retired jersey number 77, not because of anyone who wore the number, but in honor of their 1977 Championship team and their head coach, Jack Ramsay. The 1977 Blazers were lead by power forward Maurice Lucas and center Bill Walton on their way to Portland’s first and only championship. Lucas averaged 20.2 points and 11.4 rebounds per game, while Walton averaged 18.6 points, 14.4 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks per game.
