
On November 26, 1975, Fred Lynn, then of the Boston Red Sox, was named the American League MVP and Rookie of the Year. Lynn posted a slash line of .331/.401/.566 to go along with 21 home runs and 105 RBI in his rookie year. He led the league in slugging percentage, OPS (.967), runs scored (103), and doubles (47). Lynn was the first player to win the rookie of the year award and MVP award in the same year, joined only by Ichiro.
