On November 14, 1985, the Milwaukee Brewers released Hall of Fame reliever Rollie Fingers, and he would retire after refusing to sign with the Cincinnati Reds due to their no facial hair policy. Despite being an all-time great reliever with a 2.90 career ERA, three World Series championships, a World Series MVP, an AL Cy Young Award, and an AL MVP Award, Fingers was perhaps best known for his handlebar moustache.
