On November 6, 1993, Evander Holyfield defeated Riddick Bowe in a 12-round decision in their second fight, winning the WBA, IBF, and lineal heavyweight titles. Despite the intense fight and a championship title changing hands, the fight wasn’t the biggest story that night. Instead, the majority of the media and fan attention was focused on the Fan Man, a man who attempted to parachute into the ring. The Fan Man rode a paraglider into the arena at Caesars Palace and his parachute got caught on the lights, leading him to fall on the ropes of the ring instead of in the center of the ring. He was then dragged into the audience by the crowd and Bowe’s entourage, who proceeded to hit him until he was knocked out. The Fan Man continued to partake in stunts similar to this one for a few years afterwards, usually getting fined or arrested afterwards
