By Jonah Sharf

On October 27, 2002, running back Emmitt Smith of the Dallas Cowboys passed Walter Payton for most career rushing yards, a record that stands to this day. Smith spent all but two seasons of his career with the Cowboys, and he is considered to be one of the best running backs of all time. In addition to the yards record, he also holds the record for career rushing touchdowns. Smith was selected to eight Pro Bowls, won an MVP award, a Super Bowl MVP, and is a three-time Super Bowl champion.
