The Denver Nuggets beat the Los Angeles Lakers in a 2009 playoff game for the first time in 24 years. The Nuggets’ win tied the Western Conference Finals at 1-1. The Nuggets lost the series to the Lakers in six games. 

Despite this loss, the 2008-09 season was a standout for Carmelo Anthony. He scored 34 points in the 106-103 game and The Nuggets finished the season with a 54–28 record. Anthony averaged 22.8 points per game and made a career-high 37.1% of his shots from three-point range.
