In 2020, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 in Super Bowl LIV. Led by the Chiefs talented young quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City won its second Super Bowl, the first championship the team had since 1970. The game was tied 10-10 at halftime, when the 49ers began to pull away.  The 49ers led 20-10 after three quarters following a successful field goal from 49ers kicker Robbie Gould and a touchdown by running back Raheem Mostart. With 6:13 left on the clock, Mahomes showcased his magic throwing two touchdown passes and rushing for 29 yards and one touchdown. Mahomes was named Super Bowl MVP and became the first player to win both MVP and Super Bowl MVP before turning the age of 25. Mahomes will be making his second appearance in the 2021 Super Bowl, looking to win back-to-back championships with the Kansas City Chiefs.
