In 1996, Houston’s Clyde Drexler became the fifth player in NBA history to reach 2,000 career steals. Drexler ranks no.8 on the NBA All-Time Steals Leaders list with 2,007. Drexler played 15 seasons in the NBA and named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History. Drexler spent a majority of his career on the Portland Trailblazers and helped them achieve their best record (63-13) in the 1990-91 NBA season. Traded to the Rockets in 1995, Drexler played a huge role in helping the Houston Rockets repeat as NBA champions. Despite the Rockets mediocre regular season record (47-35), the addition of Drexler paid off. The Rockets swept the Orlando Magic in the 1995 NBA Finals. Drexler averaged 21.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 6.8 assists in the series. A 10x NBA All-Star, Drexler was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2004 and his no.22 is retired by the Portland Trailblazers and the Houston Rockets.
