On this day in 2004, San Francisco Giants left fielder Barry Bonds blasted his 700th career MLB home run. Bonds was known for his exceptional hitting and he is still the MLB career leader for home runs with 762. Bonds played 22 seasons in the MLB and placed within the top five hitters in 12 of his 17 qualifying seasons. Unfortunately, Bond’s ties to performance-enhancing drugs are a blemish on an otherwise spectacular career. His many accolades include a record 7x NL MVP, 8x Golden Glove, 12x Silver Slugger, and 14x All-Star. His No. 25 was retired by the San Francisco Giants in 2018.
