In 2007, the Boston Celtics gained a new “Big Three.” The Minnesota Timberwolves traded Kevin Garnett in exchange for Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes, Sebastian Telfair, Gerald Green, Theo Ratliff, cash, and two first-round draft picks. Garnett had played 12 seasons with the Timberwolves and was the team’s longest tenured player. Described as one of the largest trades for a single player, this trade allowed the Celtics to win their 17th championship in 2008.
