The great David Beckham made this U.S. debut with the Los Angles Galaxy in 2007. Beckham signed a $32.5 million deal and brought a long history of soccer success. Although a sprained ankle sidelined him for the his debut game with the Galaxy, Beckham wouldn’t make his playing debut until August 9 during a sold-out match against the D.C. United. Beckham scored his first goal with the team in April 3. After a brief loan to A.C. Milan, he returned to the Galaxy in 2009 and helped the team win the Western Conference Finals. Two years later, he led Galaxy to the Western Conference title and the team’s first MLS Supporters’ Shield since 2002.
