In 1972, the Houston Rockets traded Elvin Hayes to the Baltimore Bullets in exchange for Jack Marin. Hayes quickly became an asset to the Bullets averaging 18.1 rebounds, the third highest NBA percentage since Wilt Chamberlain retired, in 1974. The Big E went on to score 15,551 of his 27,313 career points with the Bullets and averaged 21.2 points and 12.7 rebounds during his nine seasons with the Bullets. Hayes ended his NBA career with the Rockets and was named to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall or Fame as well as the NBA’s 50th Anniversary All-Time Team.
