In 1985, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar of the Los Angeles Lakers surpassed Jerry West as the league’s all-time leading scorer in playoff history. The Lakers beat the Boston Celtics 136-111 in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. The Lakers went on to win the series in six games. LeBron James later beat Abdul-Jabbar’s record of 5,762 with 6,911 playoff points.
