In 1976, rookie Alvan Adams led the Phoenix Suns to victory over the Boston Celtics in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. Alvan scores 33 points and recorded 14 rebounds for a 105-98 victory. Alvan was selected as the 4th pick in the 1975 NBA draft and was selected to play in the All-Star Game the same year. He also won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award and was named to the All-NBA Rookie Team. Alvan played his entire career with the Suns and scored 13,910 making him the second-highest scorer in team history. The Suns and his alma mater, the University of Oklahoma, retired his no. 33 jersey.
