The Denver Nuggets pulled off a surprising upset when they defeated the sop-seeded Seattle SuperSonics 98-94 overtime in Game 5 of the Western Conference playoffs in 1994. The eighth-seeded won the first last three games of the series. Dikembe Mutombo, the Nuggets center, cried tears of joy after catching the final rebound, according to NBA.com. The Nuggets victory was the first time the eighth-seed upset the first-seed since the First Round of the NBA Playoffs went to a best-of-5 format in 1984.
