In 2000, the Los Angeles Lakers ended their 19-game winning streak after a loss to the Washington Wizards. This streak was the fourth longest in NBA history. The Lakers also hold the record for the longest winning streak thanks to their 33-game streak in the 1971–72 season which ended in a season-best 69–13 record and a NBA Finals victory. Close behind is the Golden State Warriors 28 game streak which started in the 2014-15 season and ended in the 2015-16 season. The Lakers have an impressive record of wining steaks (both regular season and post season) they are ranked among the top 24 teams six times. The second-runner up for most winning streaks is the Boston Celtics team with five regular season streaks of 19, 18, 17, and 16 games in a row.
