The Sacramento Kings broke their 43-road game losing streak, the longest in NBA history, in 1991 during a match against the Orlando Magic. This unexpected 95-93 victory was thanks, in large part, to Lionel Simmons who scored 27 points. Simmons was the King’s 7th round draft pick in 1990 and runner up for the Rookie of the Year Award in 1991. He retired after seen seasons with the Kings and 5,833 career points. The Kings ended the season with a 29–53 record after replacing head coach Dick Motta with Rex Hughes. Under Hughes, the Kings had a second 10-game losing streak and placed 7th in the Western Conference and 10th in the Western Division.
