Today in Sports History: May 24

On May 24, 2000, Detroit Pistons legend and Legends Of Sport Podcast guest Isiah Thomas was one of six people elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Thomas, the de facto leader of the “Bad Boy” era Pistons, helped them win two NBA titles and was named Finals MVP in 1990. Thomas was a 12-time All-Star, as well as an NCAA Champion and NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player in 1981. Thomas finished his career with averages of 19.2 points, 9.3 assists, and 1.9 steals per game.
