On April 18, 1991, Utah Jazz point guard John Stockton recorded 11 assists in the final game of the season, finishing the 1990-91 season with 1,164 assists, breaking his own NBA record for assists in a season set the previous year. Stockton’s record stands to this day as the most assists by a single player in one season. In fact, the top four seasons in terms of assists in a season all belong to Stockton. All 19 of Stockton’s NBA seasons were played for the Jazz, and he holds the NBA records for career assists and steals by a large margin.
