On March 18, 2001, Reggie Miller of the Indiana Pacers became the first player in NBA history to make 2,000 career three-pointers. Miller would finish his career with 2,560 three pointers, which still stands as second all-time in NBA history. Since then, Miller has been joined by seven other players, showing the change that has occurred in the NBA in recent times. Ray Allen is the only player to have passed Miller in three pointers, so far, with Stephen Curry close behind. Miller was known for his amazing three-point shooting, especially in pressure situations, and was a five-time NBA All-Star, a member of the 50-40-90 club one season, and is in the Basketball Hall of Fame.
