On March 2, 1962, Wilt Chamberlain of the Philadelphia Warriors scored 100 points, the most ever by an NBA player in a single game. He led his team to a 169-147 win over the New York Knicks, with the incredible performance. Chamberlain shot 36-of-63 from the field and 28-of-32 from the free-throw line, to go with 25 rebounds. His 1961-62 season was one of the greatest seasons of all time, in which he averaged 50.4 points per game, 25.7 rebounds per game, and 48.5 minutes per game — more minutes than there are in a regulation NBA game.
