On November 5, 1994, George Foreman won the WBA, IBF, and lineal heavyweight titles by defeating Michael Moorer by knockout in the 10th round. With the win Foreman became the oldest world champion in heavyweight boxing history, a claim he still holds today—the title of oldest world champion in any weight class in boxing history was claimed by Bernard Hopkins. Foreman would win three more matches in his career, retiring after losing his title to Shannon Briggs in 1997, at 48 years old. In addition to his longevity, Foreman was known for being the first fighter to defeat Joe Frazier, as well as the famous “Rumble in the Jungle” against Muhammad Ali.
