On October 26, 1984, Charles Barkley, John Stockton, and Michael Jordan each made their NBA debuts for their teams—the 76ers, Jazz, and Bulls, respectively. Barkley was selected with the fifth pick, Stockton the 16th pick, and Jordan the third pick in the 1984 NBA Draft. Barkley was known particularly for his imposing presence in the paint as well as his rebounding prowess—he was known as “The Round Mound of Rebound.” Stockton is considered one of the best point guards of all time, holding the NBA records for most career assists and steals by a considerable amount. While Barkley and Stockton were known primarily for being great at what their respective positions specialized in, Jordan is considered by many to be the greatest player of all time, with career averages of 30.1 points per game, 6.2 rebounds per game, and 5.3 assists per game. The three legends teamed up on the Dream Team in 1992, and needless to say, all three are in the Hall of Fame.
