On October 8, 1992, the Ottawa Senators played their first ever NHL game, beating the Montreal Canadiens 5-3. The rest of the year would not go quite as well for the Senators, who went 10-70-4 in their inaugural season. Since their founding, Ottawa has been to the playoffs 16 times, been to the conference finals three times, and made it to the Stanley Cup Final once, losing to the Anaheim Ducks.
